Terms of Service

These terms explain, in plain language, what Penso is, what you can expect from the service, and what we expect from you when using it.

Last updated: July 28, 2026

1. Who we are and acceptance of these terms

Penso is a personal finance application operated by Cien Aventuras LLC (“Penso”, “we”). By creating an account and using Penso you accept these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

2. The service

Penso helps you organize your personal finances: recording accounts and transactions, importing bank statements, connecting your banks, automatically categorizing expenses, and keeping track of budgets, debts, savings goals, and investments. It is built for the Chilean market.

Penso is not a bank or a financial institution, and it is not supervised by Chile's Financial Market Commission (CMF), because it is not a financial product: it does not hold your money, cannot move it, does not execute payments or transfers, and does not grant or broker credit or investments.

Penso is free today. If we introduce paid plans in the future, we will let you know in advance, and nothing you already use for free will be charged retroactively.

3. Your account

You need an account to use Penso. You must be over 18 years old and provide truthful information when signing up.

  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that happens in your account.
  • We recommend enabling two-step verification in your security settings.
  • If you detect unauthorized access to your account, write to us immediately at [email protected].

4. Penso is not financial advice

Penso is a tool to view and organize your financial information. The data, reports, charts, and categorizations it shows are informational: they do not constitute financial, investment, credit, tax, or legal advice.

Part of the information is processed automatically (for example, reading bank statements and categorizing transactions), so it may contain errors or omissions. The official source of your balances and transactions is always your bank. Any decisions you make based on what you see in Penso are your own.

5. Your data is yours

The financial information you enter or import into Penso belongs to you. We only process it to provide you with the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

  • You can export your transactions from the app whenever you want.
  • You can delete your account at any time; doing so deletes your associated data (accounts, transactions, budgets, bank connections, and more).
  • We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

6. Acceptable use

By using Penso you agree not to:

  • Access or attempt to access other users' data without their authorization.
  • Interfere with the operation of the service, overload it, or attempt to breach its security measures.
  • Use Penso for illegal activities or to store third-party information without their consent.
  • Resell the service or use it in any way other than as a personal finance tool.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, notifying you when it is reasonable to do so.

7. Shared spaces

Penso lets you share your financial space with other people (for example, your partner or family). The space owner controls access: they decide who to invite, what role each person has (admin, editor, or view-only), and can revoke access at any time.

Keep in mind that anyone you invite to your space will see the financial information in that space according to their role. Only invite people you trust.

8. Availability and “as is” service

Penso is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We work to keep the service running well and available, but we cannot guarantee it will be error-free or operate without interruption.

Some features depend on third parties (banks, bank connection providers, artificial intelligence services) whose operation we do not control. We may also modify, add, or discontinue features; if a change affects you significantly, we will give you reasonable advance notice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Chilean law, Penso and Cien Aventuras LLC are not liable for indirect damages or for losses arising from financial decisions made based on the information the app displays, from errors in automatically imported or categorized data, or from service interruptions.

Nothing in these terms limits liabilities that the law does not allow to be limited, nor does it affect the rights granted to you by Chilean consumer protection regulations.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will publish the current version on this page with its last-updated date and communicate significant changes through the service or by email. If you keep using Penso after a change, we understand that you accept it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Chile, without prejudice to consumer protection rules or other public order provisions that may apply based on your place of residence.

12. Contact
